Birds fill my heart with joy and delight. Where I live, I regularly see Cardinals, Blue Jays, Sparrows, Woodpeckers, Grackles, Robins, Hummingbirds, Hawks, and other varieties that I have yet to identify. I love to listen to their happy trills, like a waterfall of cheer, and it amazes me that their plumage spans the entire spectrum of color. God took such care to create these beautiful creatures, most of them small in size. But God takes notice of them, and even the smallest details of our lives. The things that are hardly important to me (I certainly don't take time to number the hairs on my head), are important to God. When I think about how he cares that much about his smallest creatures and also the most minute aspects of my being, I feel that he certainly must care even more about my righteous hopes, desires, and dreams. God is mindful of my heart's longings.
What are you most grateful for today?
